What is Internet of Things (IoT)?
Internet of things is a system of integral digital machines and other computing devices which are embedded with electronics, software, and sensors which enables these to exchange data between two objects over the network.Internet of Things (IoT) was introduced and became familiar in 1999 by Kevin Ashton.IoT allows objects to be controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems and resulting in improved efficiency and accuracy.IoT is capable of objects that were formerly connected by closed circuit, such as communicators, cameras, sensors. Allows them to broadcast globally through the use of the internet service.
These objects use embedded systems, with specialized hardware that allows not only connectivity to the Internet, also remotely specific tasks can be performed.
How Does IoT Work?
The device and objects with built-in sensors are connected to the internet, which integrates data between devices, analyzes and then shares the most beneficial information. An IoT system consists of sensors/devices which talk to the cloud through the internet. When the information gets into the cloud the software starts its process which performs an action and sends alerts to the device.
If the user wants the information he can check the system where a user interface allows them to view it. Even they can make any changes, it stores in the cloud and reflects the device.Internet of Things (IoT) also referred as the Internet of Everything (IoE), which consists of all devices that connect, send and act on the data they acquire from the surrounding using embedded sensors and communication hardware.
IOT – Common Uses
IoT applications have been used all over the industries.
Engineering and Infrastructure Industry: They use the application to improve the production, marketing, service delivery, and safety.
Government and Safety: They use to improvise the Law enforcement, Defense, CIty and Economic Management.
Hospitality: It is highly used by the medical devices, research, care and emergency care.
